How to remove liquid stains from old finished wood?

The best is a product called Restor-A-Finish. It's available in many different colors and you don't need an exact match. It's used by antique dealers to hide scratches etc. so they don't have to refinish and subsequently diminish the value.

Try Ace Hardware stores or Google Howard Products for store reference. How to remove liquid stains from old finished wood?

How do you get old stains from liquids out of hardwood floors to prepare it for new finish?

If the stain is still there after sanding try some bleach on the stain mark only, not the whole area. Or if that doesn't work then go to Home depot and get a stain stick and try to blend the stain so it looks like the grain of the woodHow do you get old stains from liquids out of hardwood floors to prepare it for new finish?
Preparations should include the sanding of the floor. There shouldn't be any stain left after you sand it.How do you get old stains from liquids out of hardwood floors to prepare it for new finish?
Also you can restain.
It depends on the liquid but sanding removes a multitude of liquid sins. If the stains lighten but don't dissapear then applying a stain will mask the errant liquid spills. If neither provides you with satisfactory results then you can also bleach the entire floor but it is labor intensive.
Sand, sand, sand the floor, 'til the stain is gone.

Then you can refinish it, then the chore is done.
to remove stains:

mix equal parts vinegar and olive oil and apply it with a soft cloth while moving with the wood grain. use another clean, soft cloth to shine it.

damp mopping with a mild vinegar solution is widely recommended as a way to clean wood and no wax vinyl or laminate flooring. but if possible, check with your manufacturer first. even diluted, vinegars acidity can ruin some floors, use 1/2 cup white vinegar in 1 gallon (3.7 liters) of warm water. start with a trial application in an inconspicuous area. before applying the solution, squeeze out the mop thoroughly (or just use a spray bottle to moisten the mop head).

I am not exactly sure what exactly you want. Is it a dewy look? still the best products for the job are Bee Luscious Cosmetics, Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation and then finish off with any of the shimmering mineral powders, its an awesome look .
I also use Almay concealer in the long tube and for foundation Covergirl Trublend Liquid Foundation works really well....
MAC has an amazing spf liquid foundation.

They have one with a dewy finish and a silk/shine finish, they both give you an amazing glow.
I love the products by Bee Luscious Cosmetics they have an excellent variety to choose from and its easy to shop on line.

I use their foundation and concealer with great success always !

  • Anyone tried Maybelline's Dream Liquid Mousse? And what does ';airbrush finish'; mean?

What did you think? I bought some today at Wal-Mart. I currently use Maybelline's Pure Makeup, but I want something with better coverage. I have moderate acne--does anyone know if this stuff makes you breakout worse? I know it's supposed to be full coverage--does it fully conceal acne and acne scars? Also, what the heck does ';airbrush finish'; mean? lolAnyone tried Maybelline's Dream Liquid Mousse? And what does ';airbrush finish'; mean?
my mother has baaad skin. craters...acne scars...

when she uses bare minerals its like..****...completely smooth.

all my friends with bad acne dont use liquid they use minerals.Anyone tried Maybelline's Dream Liquid Mousse? And what does ';airbrush finish'; mean?
I strongly suggest a mineral makeup. Each person will react differently to different foundations, but generally mineral makeup gives maximum coverage.

Air Brushed is a lighter makeup. If you notice, when you use a thick liquid or cream to powder solid, it tends to look caked on, which is what you are doing with it, pressing it into your pores. the air brushed look is exactly as it sounds. It is developed to appear as if it were lightly brushed on your skin rather than smeared into your skin. However, it provides full coverage without looking quite so heavy.

Mineral make up is generally made up of natural products rather than chemicals.

Consider organic foods, they are ';without the harsh chemicals and additional growth supplements';.

It may seem that if you use a heavier make up that it would fill in and cover scar's better, however, the mineral makeup that is made to look air brushed actually covers as well if not better.
The airbrush makeup will be light, but have lots of pigment so that if you are filmed - via a digital camera or HDTV, you can still look natural YET flawless, and not like you have a caked foundation of your face. News anchors and celebrities often get their foundation airbrushed on - because its so light, yet provides FULL coverage (you can build the layers). If you have a few extra dollars, go to a MAC Cosmetics store. Their foundations are TRULY airbrushed and flawless. Its worth it.
Aibrush finish just means that it looks, well, airbrushed.

The way people on TV look.

Try the foundation for I'd say a week, and see if it aggravated your skin. If it does, return it. If you like it, keep it.

Can I use CoverGirl TruBlend Microminerals Finishing Veil OVER my CG TB liquid makeup foundation?

I looked it up on a bunch of different search engines but none tell me if I can or not. On the CG website, they say the Finishing Veil is for setting powder foundation, but can I use it to set my liquid foundation?

I don't see why not, but nothing is telling me otherwise! Can I use CoverGirl TruBlend Microminerals Finishing Veil OVER my CG TB liquid makeup foundation?
Sure go for it, you can use any powder with any foundation, as long as they both match your fine. Can I use CoverGirl TruBlend Microminerals Finishing Veil OVER my CG TB liquid makeup foundation?
why wouldn't you be able to?

You can use any powder to set any form of foundation. It might not work for what you want (ie controlling oil) but it woudln't do anything bad.

I like to have a powder finish over my liquid foundation, and I like my make-up to be Cruelty Free...?

I've just started using Urban Decay, and I love their Surreal Skin foundation, but I want a powder to use with it too, which cruelty-free product would you recommend to me?I like to have a powder finish over my liquid foundation, and I like my make-up to be Cruelty Free...?
Try Lush. They're good about things like that, and while I haven't tried their face powders, I can safely say that their eye and lip products are excellent!

All the Boots no. 7 range are cruelty free and really good. It may be a little more expensive but lasts ages, so good value too.Like you I never use anything that has been tested on animals.

Reply to your later quetstion ... we always do an internet search ...

Do Boots test their products on animals ?

Answer: No. We do not use animals to test our products, nor do we have animal testing conducted on our behalf by anyone else. Instead, we ensure product safety through state-of-the-art testing methods on human volunteers.

Also we checked at out local Boots shop with the girl on the no 7 counter, who assured us that this is correct.

We have all the booklets and lists you have checked and its worrying that they sometimes contain the wrong information, so we always double check.

    Hope that helps. Katt
Love LOVE love the Boot's products. The UK have a strict E.U. standard that prohibit animal testing. Boot's cosmetics offer a chose of 3 powders. One loose powder in 2 shades....Three Compact powders in 3 shades...with the No7 Boot's Line and Botanic Boot's Line.

Do not go for loreal brand products, olay products...for they have been known for testing on animals.

You may find these in any Target store or online for under 12.99
